How easy is it to propagate Peris?

Scotcat - I assume you mean Pieris.

However, I don't have a clue. I presume you would do it via cuttings. But I suspect that it might not be easy, as its a very slow growing shrub. But hopefully someone will know more.

I've reached for the RHS propagation book again and it says there are a couple of options -

"cuttings - once new foliage loses its red tinge, take thin nodal greenwood cuttings up to 8cm long. Remove tips and retain 4-5 leaves. Reduce larger leaves by half. With hormone rooting compound, free-draining, low-nutrient compost and 12-15 degrees celcius bottom heat, rooting takes 6-8 weeks.

Seeds - surface-sow seeds, keep moist at 15 degrees Celcius. Seedlings grow slowly and are prone to scorch.

Layering - simple layer in spring but air layer at any time."

Sounds like cuttings and layering is the way to go. I hope this has been some help and you get lots of lovely new plants soon.
