Persimmons in the UK?

    Has anyone managed to grow ripe persimmons (eg sharon fruit, kaki) in the UK?

    I had a look round at other sites and i dont think its possible

    Yes, since posting I've been doing some googling myself!

    It seems that they might actually survive our winter, but unfortunately wouldn't fruit without three months of 30+ temperatures! Pity...
