Personal Hygeine for Magpie

    Every evening just before dusk for the last week, a magpie has come and availed himself of my birdbath, in he goes has a good splash, then jumps up on to fence or garden arch. Sometimes he stops and preens his feathers and several good shakes, or if someone outside in neighbouring yards, he will go straight away , will try and get some pics, but I don`t always see him arrive, and only when he jumps up do I notice him.

          came about 4-30 today, leapt for camera but he had gone,so when I was watering, I cleaned it all out, and put fresh water ready for tomorrows ablutions :heehee:

              Birds will bath more this time of year they need the moisture for the eggs when they are sitting on the nest, it stops the shells from drying out to much before they hatch. :)
