Trying to organise my new shed and find a space saving way to store my petrol strimmer. Thought I had cracked it when I placed it upright in the corner with the guard jammed against the door frame and a piece of plastic chain around the neck to keep it from falling over. However, this position means that fuel leaks out of the vent hole in the tank filler cap. Obviously I am loath to drain the tank every time especially during the summer. I just wondered if anyone on here has come up with an ingenious idea of how best to store these awkward bits of kit.

:thumb: Hi Franco, you discovered that too.... :dh:
I have mine hung across the wall on 2 hooks, so that the petrol tank is always upright... Then small shorter implements hang under it so no space wasted..!! :thumb:...

Thanks for the tip. Sorted it out today as I found a couple of old ladder brackets hiding in the garage. Of course being a real old saddo I had to take a picture!

if you dont drain the tank and carb the petrol can evaporate leaving the oil behind which can give you all sorts of problems , also when petrol evaporates slowly it can leave behind a kind of varnish that might clog up the carb.
old petrol isnt too good anyway , always use fresh and two stroke can deteriorate after time if mixed in petrol.
i dont know about you but my strimmer can be a asre to start as it is without having to deal with dodgy petrol as well.
also if it is drained you can hang it up.:gnthb:
