    Not the best of pics . ( taken with mob.)

    This poor guy has lost his tail feathers ,he feeds with the hens at a neighbours farm !

    Why do they lose their tail feathers? I've seen a few like that lately.

    It's the time of year when Pheasants go into a moult breeding cycle as finished, they will gain a new set about nov/dec.

    Our elusive Woodie on the green in front of our house 5 minutes ago.

    I've seen loads of them strongy, but its usually the back view as they fly away. :D
    You've done well to get a few good shots.

    I realised after I posted that it 's in Gogs's Pheasant thread, [​IMG]
    It's strange Pete, we never see the more common Great Spotted woodies here at all. These appear occassionally although this one stayed for about ten minutes. We were lucky as the green is between two public footpaths but was quiet enough for him/her to stay for a while.
