            Thanks, I got the slabs from a reclamation yard. You could pick things up very cheap at one time but these places have raised their prices as more people DIY these days. They are quite thick and I quite like the colour as I want brightly coloured flowers and terracota pots to go there. There is room for a table and chairs too so my wife sits out there often. When it's sunny that is !
            I plan to put a simple pergola over it. As the patio is a diamoned shape facing the house the pergola will be a square, hope that makes sense ? The posts will be half way along the sides and not in the corners ! Then a couple of climbers for the posts but not so vigorous that they grow over the pergola and cut out the sun/light. :SUNsmile:

              Actually, maybe you should ask to get this thread moved as mabye not everyone will look in the section. Too good to be missed.
