Hi all, didn't post this in the photography section cos it isn't a question about photography, just about PB.

I notice from these threads that alot of you delete some of your photo's from PB. why do you do this? I did read that somebody said the photo's just stay around 'in the ether', so that was why they deleted them.

Do you think it's best to delete them & maybe only use PB to post pics on here?

    cheers

[IMG] I think it is just personal choice borrowers more than anything.. Sometimes it is because we move them around within our photobucket accounts & some people are just very tidy & don't bother keeping their pics after a certain time.. You can of course fill an acct & have to delete some before you can upload more, but it takes 100s of pics to do that usually.. [IMG] So could be for all sorts of reasons. Personally I just leave mine there... :D

If you delete them or move them the links are broken and the picture will disappear from the thread. I don't delete pictures normally, except the naughty ones of Webmaster, but I do move them around so I have to go back and fix the links [IMG]

I guess from what has been said that there is a limit to how many photos can be stored on a photobucket account. Does anyone know what that amount is? Presumably, when the account is full you just open another one - or is that too naive?

That's why I use tinypic.com because you don't have to have an account
to save the photo and if you do move your photos around or even delete
them from your computer they will not disappear from your post.

    Anybody else use tinypic?

Hi Shiney,It is 1,000 photos and then you have to open another album and start again, though you will need to give it a title.I keep forgetting where I am suppossed to be and keep trying to upload photo's on the full one, then a message comes up and says that the album is full so can't download any more photos  Hope this helps...

I have been trying to find some of the threads I started the other year of my spring photo's and Moon photos that I put up on GC but I am blowed if I can find them and I am sure I didn't delete them but can't remember what section I put them under  :(

I believe it is 10,000 pics you can now store in Photobucket. Looking at my account, I currently have 1236 photos, these are distributed between my main account and nine sub-sections, with only 326 in mymain account. I have sections for Algarve Garden, Algarvian Days, Butterflies, Comp Photos, CountryLife, Fiesa, Flowers, Minkies (my cats) and VictoriArt. Having separate sub-sections makes it easier when you are looking for something.

I believe it used to be that you could only have 1,000 and I remember BM, rosa and I all getting to that figure about the same time and had to get another account, which meant another e-mail address.

Kandy, have you searched under Kandy's Spring Flowers and Kandy's Moon Photos in the seardh facility?

Hi Woo,I have now done that thanks, but now will have to try and organise my favoouritesinto folders or whatever you call them as I have hundreds so my photos will get lost.I have PB in favourites near the top so it is easy enough for me to go straight there.Thankyou for your advice [IMG]

LoL,I believe it is still 1,000 per album because if I accidently go to the wrong album and then try to upload the photos then the failure notice comes up.

I have tried Kandy's Moon photos plus Kandy's Spring Photos, but you have to click which section they are under and because I can't remember which section it says that the items cannot be found. As I find each lot of my photos they are going into my favourites, but I am trying to find what spring flowers came up last year and what may have died off over the winter.
    Thanks for your help.. [IMG]

I use Photobucket ... infact I am just in the process of uploading some of photos of my garden to post on here.
Not sure as to the maximum number of photos you can have on there though. Guess I will just keep uploading photos on there until I can't do anymore!

Kandy, go into GoPro on the upper right, to the right of where Marley said to look, and see what is free and what you pay for when you go Pro.

I definitely have more than 1,000 as, like you, I'm a phtoography freak now ... :D

PS Don't ask me how I posted that link above ...

I only put pics on PB that I want to post. I put some on flickr, but I still keep my own copys.

I tend to keep a lot on my hard drive and transfer them to a memory stick, or a DVD.
I dont trust websites with my pics as a rule, I look after them myself.
