Good question Macleaf - my father-in-law is a "pigeon man" (as they call themselves - not that he is actually a man-sized pigeon or anything.. but I digress!) He has often given a lot of erm, guano, away to local gardeners, but never tried it myself. Supposed to be good, but I'm not sure what it would do to the pH of the soil?

    It's great stuff!
I used to get given sacks of it from a pupil and I'd put it in a sandbag in a bucket of water and use it diluted on the veg plot.

It gets weaker in concentration every time you decant and top up. Once I reckoned the "goodness" was exhausted I'd remove the sack and empty what remained in it onto the compost heap.
All very unscientific but it was free fertiliser!
