Just reading an entry on one of my favourite gardening blogs http://www.mytinyplot.co.uk/ and she mentions pinching out tops of pumpikns once a few fruits have set. One of my squash plants has now started producing female flowers and fruits ina serious style. Should I be reducing their number?

Are you growing them to eat? If so you should want as heavy a crop as possible, so no, don`t pinch out. If you want large ones for decorative purposes then yes, do pinch out.

Helped? I think they're going to need scuba gear!
But I've got a seriously promising crop coming on - maybe 20 fruits on 4 plants. Slugs are getting a few early on but seem to ignore them after they drop the flower. Here's hoping anyway....
