This is my mums pinkberry bush that was bought last summer. Its not looking too clever. We have done a bark test and some bits are dead and some are alive.

Does anyone have one? Do they normally look like this at this time of year?

If not what is the best course of action to help it

    Aww, sorry, missed this one.

If you get another, make sure its potted in Ericaceous compost and only watered with rain water, they don't like lime at all, might have been what done for it

You can grow them in large pots, don't worry, Black Currant is not the same plant as Blackberry, that would be a nightmare.

New bushes are reasonably cheap, they don't fruit much for the first couple of seasons, but after that they really take off. They'll crop well for ten years or so, you can take cuttings easily to make new bushes, but watch out for scale insects as they get older.

No need to net against the birds, but you might have to against small children
