    Hi all.

This Piris was only planted in the ground (from a pot) about 2 - 3 months ago, so I hesitated pruning it, however, it seems to like where it is.

My question....I would like it to be more column shaped than wide bush shaped...so any recommendations would be appreciated, such as what and when to prune. I know you should cut the flower stalks after flowering but I haven't even done that with it being in a new home.

    Thanks in advance.:thumb:

I reckon that those sort of evergreens need to be pruned early enough that any new growth is not still soft in the Winter, and late enough that the cold / wind doesn't kill any new shoots, so sort of April-May time - even that I would be "trimming" rather than "pruning hard back"
