Hi everyone, new to the boards, lots of questions to ask, hopefully I can answer some too! [IMG]

Ok, my problem. Last year i found that I had bulbs growing out of almost every facet of my garden, tuplis, daffodils, all sorts, they were originally planted by my father in a very random and (annong to me!) kind of way.

So, i removed them all after flowering with the intention of putting them back somewhere i liked , however I was too lazy todo this, and as such they are all sat in pots currently sprouting nice green shoots.

My question is, when is the latest I can replant them? And secondly, is there any tips on how to plant them, so should I want to remove them in future I can without digging them all out individually (boy that was a killer, 100+ bulbs, of dear oh dear!)? I was thinking maybe in some sort of pots that are not biodegradable? Has anyone tried something like this? What do you recommend?

I find that bulbs get in the way of my border and bedding plants, i.e. while i am planting them i am always chopping into or digging up exisiting bulbs, this is something i would like to get around.

    Any tips?!

Wow that was as long post [IMG]

Thanks to everyone who can help.
    Taz

Plant them in those perforated pots used for planting in ponds and then you can dig them up and store them as you choose.
Mind a 100 pls bulbs is not too bad. I had to move 75 kilo's of daffodils last Autumn cos they were the wrong colour (The daffs were orange instead of white).
Anyway, we often plant our crocus in these pots to save them from the attentions of the mice who otherwise eat them all. We dig them up when the leaves have died down and store in a cool dark shed until time for replanting.

yes, i dont think 100 bulbs is a big job, and imo no bulbs should be laid planted in a regimented way !
try planting 100o bulbs in amongst stone/tree roots and then complain!

absolutely! hundreds and thousands of little allium bulbs in amongst rose roots is loads of fun, believe me!!
I find that planting a lot of bulbs in something like a basket, colander, whatever, is best - then, if you want to keep your beds tidy, all you have to do is lift them, put them somewhere out of sight, let them do their 8 weeks or so of feeding the bulb by themselves, and adding feed too if you want - that really works
