Final seed list that I am assembling of "general things", which don't fit onto my other more specific lists, for next year:

    General:

    Cobaea scandens var. alba

    [IMG] EUPHORBIA CHARACIAS CHARACIAS
    [IMG] EUPHORBIA JACQUEMONTII

These [to be naturalised in] the woodland walk:

    [IMG] HELLEBORUS 'BLACK BEAUTY'
[IMG] HELLEBORUS FOETIDUS MISS JEKYLL'S SCENTED
    [IMG] HELLEBORUS 'HELEN BALLARD'S'
    [IMG] HELLEBORUS RITA'S BLACK

To bulk up the plants I have (I probably need a supplier of bulk seed for these, rather than "just one packet"):
    Lilium candidum
    [IMG] Lilium regale
    Festuca glauca 'Elijah Blue'
    Stipa gigantea

I also want (lots of) a very low Black grass, and something to make a White one too (to plant to make the squares of a Chess board - ornamental, not for walking on)

For Black grass then Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens' would fit the bill. I don’t know if you can get seed for it (google says yes). I bought some small plants a couple of years ago and have been splitting them up, they are very very slow growing so seed might be quicker if you can find them.

No idea of a ‘white’ grass though - maybe a white alysum?

I don't reckon there are any other contenders for the Black. I have two thick clumps that I am going to split up and try to propagate that way, but as you say seed (if available) would be quicker. Each "square" is probably 4M x 3M ... 4 white and 4 black ... its a lot of plants.

Yes, a white alysum would do the trick, the other thing I had considered was Cerastium Tomentosum - I think grey foliage would help "out of season"

I'm definitely up for that. "Aren't your snowdrops that size" will be a great throw-away-line !!
