Outside of my property I have a concrete outhouse which at the rear is a raised bank allowing kids to climb onto the roof and mess about etc.

Dont think the soil there is particularly good although the ferns and japanese knotweed seem to grow well there!!

What can I buy fairly cheaply which will be sturdy and grow quickly to prevent them from mucking about. I have some sort of bush in my garden which has horrendously large thorns/spikes but tried taking cuttings and rooting it too no avail.

Berberis is the obvious answer, cuttings are not easy, but it does comefrom berries quite easily. Briar roswe growing over the shed would stop anyone and again easy to come by.

Briar rose will grow quickly and is not to be tangled with - another option would be hawthorn and pyracantha - both are very prickly.

However check with the police first - you know how pc people can be if the little angels suffer even the most minor of injuries.

Well I originally checked to see how I would stand putting "anti-climb" paint on the roof of my outhouse. As its got to be over a certain height and due to the raised bank behind the building it was a non-starter.

My mate is an Inspector in the force in my area and he has suggested getting something prickly.

As I mentioned to him though, as my roof is corrugated sheeting and it is leaking the beams are all soaking and doesnt look very secure. In this day and age though I wouldnt bet on the little darlings parents putting a claim in against me should they fall through my roof on private property!!!! Thanks all for the suggestions though
