Solved Plant ID Please - Garlic Mustard (Alliaria petiolata)

    This wasnt there a few weeks ago, it the one in the middle to the left of the peony I do remember trying a Black Eyed Susan and also something else (just cant remember) but it never took as the area has some shade in full summer from a tree.

      Looks like Garlic Mustard (Alliaria petiolata), a fairly common garden weed.

      It often turns up on recently disturbed, shady ground and is edible (usual disclaimers apply; make SURE you can identify it first).

        does it have a stale gas smell when you try and dig it up ?

          Thanks, will rub the leaves in the morning and let you know but I think Trunky and Jenny may be right, I guessed that it was a weed (but still wasn't sure) but its so fast growing (its about 18 inch high now and it must have grown that in the past 3 - 4 weeks)

          Checked this morning and yes the leaves have a garlic smell to them so its coming out....thanks
