Appreciate it might be a bit early but these are coming up in two or three places and they weren't there last year.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

Possibly bluebells. I have similar shoots where they appeared last year.

Thank you, I had wondered about Bluebell but would they look like that from seed set last year?

Spreading occurs naturally by bulb division and seeding but the seeds take longer to germinate and flower. Mine have spread by bulb division as I usually remove the flowers before they set seed.

OK, thank you. I've got a feeling they may be the Spanish type so will monitor and remove later if they are.

TBH I dont really know, but I have planted out hyacinths after pot flowering and often they grow similar to this in the second year, the bulbs kind of split into smaller ones.
My bluebells are more advanced than that, but I guess it depends on where you are.

If you can dig one up with the bulb intact that will help with identification. My shoots are a similar size to yours. A couple of years ago I tried to dig up a lot of Spanish bluebells but it didn’t make much difference. Now I just let them flower for a short while and then remove the flowers before they set seed plus the foliage to weaken the bulbs.
