Does anyone know what this plant is called please? Saw it on Garden Rescue but no name given for it. I apologise for poor quality of plant as I quickly took a picture of it, from the TV and it’s come out blurry.
It has a round leaf, upturned, red underneath with red stem. Don’t know if it flowers etc. TIA.

What sort of size was it? Heucheras often have those dark undersides, but so do things like Ligularia, which are much bigger.

Looks more like ligularia by comparison with the arm size, and the way the leaf is angled upwards. But these days one mostly sees the very dark forms of them.

    Mine are slightly darker ones @CarolineL - I have L. 'Britt-Marie Crawford'.

Slugs love them unfortunately, as the foliage is a big part of the attraction for me, and they get shredded really badly.

I'd say Liguria too, mine has orange flowers in the summer.

They look great in the spring with fresh growth. But they are slug magnets unfortunately, mine are looking very tatty now.

Thanks folks. Definitely not bergenia, we have that plant and it’s not that. Have googled ligularia and it still doesn’t look quite what we saw on the programme. The arm pulling the plant out of the van was on top of the plants pot so the plant would only be approx 12+18 inches …ish. Also not a heuchera.
Not to worry, I’ll keep looking on line. Thanks for the suggestions.

PS, is it right that when I’ve posted on a thread here, I can no longer see the thread on the main page of “most recent “ posts please?

Yes, I've noticed that myself. It's a bit disconcerting at first but makes sense really.

@Songbird it won't show on the 'New Posts' page unless someone else posts after you, that way you only see the threads you haven't visited.

It will appear on the 'Recent Posts' page but gradually moves down as others make posts on other threads. You might find it on page 2 or 3 depending on how busy the forum is.

A quicker way to find all your posts is to click on your username at top right, then select 'Your Profile Page' and then 'Postings'

Thanks @JWK …just followed your advise and found all my postings etc.
I have found the right episode where that plant is, on iPlayer, so will try and get a better picture of the unknown plant.

@AnniD , we watched it yesterday but have found it again on iplayer and it was episode 26 of season 9. I’ve tried to take some more pics of it so am hoping I can reopen this thread with them and see if the aforementioned ID is the same.

If you can pause it at 24 minutes in @Songbird, there's a good short of the chap in the van bending down to pick one up. It's very striking, but I've no idea what it is, sorry.
