Taking ClaraLou's advice at face value I've loaded up some of the plants in my garden knowing that you will be able to educate me about what they are. I have to admit I've called this a quiz purely to gain attention as I have neither a prize to award nor an answer sheet to know if you are correct! But thank you for taking part anyway :)

    thanks
    Gavin.

I think 4 may be Prunus lusitanica, Portugese Laurel.

    5. I believe that this is Vinca minor.
Unless I am mistaken the margins of the leaves are smoooth.
In Vinca major the margins are hairy.

I am very excited to see a seed pod in the top right of this pic.
I have never managed to get a pic of one.
Even on www the images of the twin seed pods is very poor, almost non existant.
Most images on web are from another plant called Catharanthus roseus, common name Madagascar Vinca.

    2. Maybe a Cotoneaster sp.
It would be good to see another pic later on,to see what colour the berries are when ripe.
