Planting between apple trees

Hello

We have a row of 6 established apple trees (20 plus years).

each have gaps of about 3 meters and producing a lot of fruit. We are looking at what we can potentially plant between them we ideally would like to introduce fruit bushes but don’t want to cause any issues to the trees.
