Planting other veg near Mange Tout

    I was having a read on the net about planting vegetable "companions" and read that you shouldn't plant onions and peas close to 1 another. Blimey that's news to me but then I'm not very experienced at this! I had intended to plant a row of Leeks in front of my Mange Tout but being related to Onions maybe not?
    I also have gown some Beetroot in the greenhouse to get it going early and that needs planting out. Would they be ok in front of the Peas instead of the Leeks? Thanks.

    Keep them away from your peas!!!! :hate-shocked:

    Beetroot should be OK with peas.

    Leeks are good with carrots and with roses.

    Never heard that one before - quite often legumes and onions are grown in the same bed on a 4 year rotation plan, I've done it in the past and don't recall there being any issue.

    Thanks, sounded a bit far fetched to me, but to be on the safe side I'll plant the
    Beets with the Mange Tout and find somewhere else for the Leeks.
