Have tried a few times to propagate some conference pear seeds (straight from the supermarket fruit), all without success. Had tried keeping them cold, for a few months then potting them.. result was always the same... mouldy seeds...!
A few weeks ago I tried a different approach... a little cotton wool pad soaked in water, placed a seed on it, popped into a sealed bag and left in the fridge. I now have a seed with the little root shoot starting to grow... :yay:
Should I leave it till it's a little longer? Or do I take it and try and plant it now? Since I only have one and it's took a month to get it to germinate, I don't want to lose it now lol

    Thanks

I would pot it up now that it has a little root showing; not too deep though...

I've grown a few apple trees from pips (just for fun cause you can't guarentee the same apple); I've found that if you get an over-ripe apple you quite often get pips that are already starting to germinate, pot these up and I've had them pop up within a few days :thumb:

Using pips from fresh apples I've had no success to speak of...

Thanks... Will just sit it on top of the compost and cover lightly with some sieved compost, and hope for the best...
