planting strawberries in autumn

    Haven't clicked your link, but, no, I didn't know that :) I haven't been very successful with strawberries, the wood mice get them before they become proper plants :wallbanging:

    I made up some vertical planters last Autumn out of some offcuts of decking boards. They take 12 plants each and in early spring I moved them into a sunny and rodent free spot on the patio.

    Elsanta I think. Reasonable crop, picked every 3-4 days for 3 weeks or so. Watering daily essential and netting to stop the blackbird raids. Tasted delicious much better than shop bought! I can't sem to upload a photo at the moment, wiil try when I have more time.
