planting wihout soil?

    I read on internet that if you want to have clear water in the pond, plants should be put into pots WITHOUT using soil and weigh them in with pebbles.This way the plants will feed off nutrients in water rather than soil.Seems to make sense but be very interested to hear from anyone who has tried this.

    hey netty, i have heard about this for indoor plants and it is prove a very healthy and clean way to grow i have a real good web site written down somewhere i will dig it out for you, and reply when i find it...
