    The following plants are looking good in my back yard at the moment (in no particular order);

    Cladrastis sinensis; the new growth is attractive in its own right; I grew this from seed about 6-7 years ago, it hasn't flowered as yet.

    A New Zealand hybrid hellebore; lovely fresh green growth.

    Some form of Primula; bright yellow.

      Bilbo - thank you. Its always nice to be introduced to new plants. I had never heard of Cladrastis. When I first looked at the pictures I thought that it was about to flower, but I think that its just a trick of the light on young leaves. How did you come across the seeds?

      Hi Peter, I got the seeds originally from Chiltern Seeds, not sure whether they still stock them, but I did see some on Ebay from America...

      I also found a nursery selling this rare shrub and another variety - BlueBell Nursery - BlueBell Nursery - Trees & Shrubs - Cladrastis

      You can see what the flowers will look like from this link...

      Thanks Bilbo. Yes I did have a good Google when I first saw your post. Thats what I love about this forum, it makes you Google things that you wouldn't have done without a prompt from someone else. Chilterns, I think are very good.

      The depressing thing about this forum is that as you Google, you become aware of just how many other plants there are that you have never heard of. The more I learn, the more I realise how little I know.
