Hey, the guys and gals who went to Shiney's open weekend, let's see your purchases / swaps! You never know, it might inspire some of the rest of us to make the trip next time!!
fern4, what a brilliant idea! here's what I came away with:

    • Bowles Golden grass which will look soooo good with the next plant
    • Lysimachia Pupurea
    • Hebe "Mrs Winder" - lovely new growth of a dark ruby colour
    • And finally...a generous "gift" of some of the Shineys' exclusive red Cowslips that I fell in love with The plants from Shineyland 001.JPG

Thanks Jenny! It's been really nice reading about the good time everybody had but I thought other members of GC including myself would love to see the plants you all came away with.

Looks like you have a fine collection there Jenny. :blue thumb:

            I bought

a carnation, just about to flower
            a Bowles' mauve erysimum
plus my cyperus papyrus from Kristen

            The BF bought

            tomatoes
            a Cypriot cucumber
6 regular local boy cukes (of which I now have two!)

By the end the plant stall looked like a plague of locusts had been over!

I've probably forgotten one or two but this is what I think I got

                2 Chives
                2 French Tarragon
1 Verbena (can't remember if I was told the variety)
                3 Salvia Oxford Blue
3 Salvia Perovskia (I think) , all the Salvia's swapped with Kristen for my 3 Clivia clumps
                1 clump of Red Valerian
                Several London Pride cuttings
I large clump of Turkish Sage
and another clump that I need to ask Shiney for an Id for

Salvia forsskaolii :) - they'd better turn out to look as good as the seed catalogue description:

Plant World Seeds says: "Enormous hairy basal leaves form a base for an immense display of white-tongued vivid purple-blue flowers on long, strong branching stems. Spectacular."

Jenny that's a rather large "postage stamp" garden you have there :wow: I'd have a field (if you'll forgive the pun) day there lol. Just out of interest, it looks like i missed something here so what is Shineyland?
