Plants use their own telephone network

    Its always seemed blatantly obvious to me that in nature, everything is so intricately connected that it can be considered to be one single thing.

    Now some scientists have found yet more evidence of plant cleverness, in the ability to communicate with each other. Nothing new, we've known for years that they can communicate through chemicals released into the air.

    What makes this one cool is that they're not communicating through chemicals released into the air. They are using the fungi that they have a symbiotic relationship with as a telephone network.
