Mind you its been somtime since I have bought.

I am just back from Dobbies and saw a nice gun metal plastic pot to plant new tulip bulbs.

For now only looked as now seen anything as nice so I may end up going back for them.

Has anyone else notice a difference in prices ?

Totally agree with you , I was looking for some big normal black 10/15L pot where to overwintering my bananas plants , 10L plastic pot was £4.50 each.
went to the building mercant and both 7 x 15L building bucket for a £1 each.

it was almost cheap to buy a large plant just for the pot.

I almost never buy plastic ones, I just endlessly recycle the ones I've got or get them from friends or freecyclers. Most people are trying to give them away!

I do the same as Sal, bought some cheap buckets from Wilkos in the sale. But I couldn't bring myself to drill drainage holes in brand new buckets, so I went around my neighbours offering my new buckets for their old tatty ones  It's only for over-wintering stuff in the greenhouse so it doesn't matter what they look like.

I've also had a lot off Freecycle too, the bigger sizes don't come up very often though.

Ended up going back this morning and did buy the Gun metel

As these will be sitting in front of house in Spring and I had a voucher so made a difference.

When not they stop blooming I move them to back of house and in summer have my glazed pots in front garden .

Not everyone thought I was doing them a favour! They were looking for the catch.

ive noticed that too. esp black plastic ones compared to the terracotta ones.

like the idea of the black buckets tho. they'll work a treat with my bamboo's!!
