Sympathise with you roders, I moved to ImageShack and found it much more adaptable to what I wanted, and it does what it says on the tin! sorry! ;)

DAG, snap! I use Imageshack now as I was suddenly quite unable to access my photobucket pics. Despite friendly input from them, I couldn't resolve the problem.
I find Imageshack much easier to use, also you don't have to give your email address or register, so one less opportunity for spam. And it can automatically resize for avatars and forums [fori? fora?] without puzzling over file size, compression etc.

Hi rosa, make sure your pictures on your PC are stored as JPEGS. Then you need to upload them onto a free ' image hoster' like Photobucket or Imageshack [I'd try Imageshack as it has an option for resizing when you upload].

When you've got your pictures onto your image hoster, choose the image you want and then copy its' 'http...' [This is called its' URL] onto your message. Put [IMG] after [no spaces] and your image will show in the message.

If you use Imageshack, you can choose to resize your image for avatar or message boards. Then go to 'my images' and choose the first line of coding beside the image, it will start [IMG]

I am going to have to get someone in to show me that knows about this.

Hi Rosa. I'm not having any problems with Photobucket but thought I'd look at imageshack out of curiosity I did imageshack.com and it came up with a variety of options ... which one did you use?

Found it, Rosa, the one with "us" on the end and have registered but still have it sitting in my favourites, just in case Photobucket plays up for me, or I may just use it next time to try it out.

Just goes to show, I found Imageshack incomprehensible and from what I could see you had to pay for any real usage, whereas Photobucket is dead simple and FREE!

There appeared to be a few imageshacks come up so I looked at Rosa's link and saw the "us" following and keyed that it ... then came up with what I guess everyone is using as I noted the facilites for avatars.
