please help ID

    Can anyone ID this tree please? The owner told me that it was a hankerchief tree but it doesn't look like any i can find on the net...

    Hi Bobby & Welcome.. That has more of the traits of a Dogwood Tree with it bracts. Dogwoods have 4 & their bracts look upwards..

    The bracts of the pocket Hankercheif tree bracts usually hang down,This is a Handkerchief bract only 2, also the centres are different..

    Such a lovely thing. I've only seen a mature speciment once. So pretty with it's handkerchiefs lying round it on the grass.

    :luv: Oh I adore Dogwoods Granny, my friends in CA have so many different ones they are a joy to behold, but sadly the hankercheif doesn't quite do it as much for me.. :dh:

    :wink: I love Dogwoods Pete so was pretty sure, but I cannot tell from the pic which one it is either Pete.. Any chance of a brighter photo of the tree Bobby..?? Maybe a close up of the bracts as well..??:scratch:
