    Amongst the weeds of my new jungle/garden I have found this plant. It's so lovely it makes all the hard work worth it! I need to know what it is, how i can care for it and if I can split it/ propagate it. No idea if I have attached picture okay as first attempt.

    Big thanks to anyone who can help EGW xx

    Does not look too special I would say, but on the other hand, yes....It could be something. I remember seeing something similar in South France, but not sure. This might help on your search...

    Long enough :heehee::heehee:

    Acanthus ,, I think the variety is Hungaricus NOT Molis (looks realy good)

    Likes a hot sunny site to make it flower well , well drained soil, but moisture retentive.

    Split in the spring just when it shows new growth , it has big fleshy roots , or and save the seeds .

    Not to rich a soil other wise you get tons of leaves and hardly any flowers

    Acanthus can be very invasive so make sure you plant it in a suitably large area, plus, it's a large plant so allow for that too.
    Site it carefully and place it in its final resting place because removing all traces of it can take years if you decide you don't like it where it is !

    Very easy to grow and looks impressive in the right position. Quite an architectural plant so looks better if it's not crammed too tight with other plants.

    thanks so much everyone! it's on a south facing wall so hopefully in the right spot, I'm digging up everything around it to show it off, it has plenty of room there so hopefully it won't be a problem. sounds like I shouldn't feed it but it only has three flower spikes on quite a large plant so would be nice to get more. THANKS AGAIN xx

    Or that one could be Acanthus Spinosus - as yours appears yo have spikier leaves than mine which is the mollis variety.
