My azaleas have just finished treating us to a great display of colour in the border. However, I have noticed that on a few of the leaves there is a strange yellow waxy cocoon developed. Can anybody tell me what this is and how I can treat it. I am worried in case it is a disease that can spread to the other plants in the border.

Only thing I can think of that's waxy is a mealy bug....... Best way to eradicate is to pick of leaves .. Burn don't compost

Then feed the plant with something like sequestered iron..................

    Hi

Sequestered iron is a food /tonic for ericaceous plants ie azalea rhododendron camellia etc .... Sequestered iron is more like a lucozade for us ... A pick me up ......
