Please Identify.

    Could anyone please tell me what this shrub/tree is.

    It's quiet old and about 8ft tall, an evergreen with new growth just starting.

    ;) Hi Fred, I have one of those too. It is a self seeder from the birds I think.... I have looked but not sure. I think I came to the conclusion it could be a Viburnum of some sort, but have never really found out... You have prompted me to have another look..!!!;):D

    Hi fred and Marley ... when I first saw it, I thought it was a Sorbus (Mountain Ash) but the leaves look a bit hapazard for that. :confused: No doubt somene with knowledge of trees will come along shortly.

    I think it might be a whitebeam


    Ah, just spotted, its evergreen.

    A bit cotoneaster like then.

    :confused: I thought the leaves were too small for Catoneaster though Pete..;)

    I was thinking along the lines of C, franchetti or C. pendulus.

    Thank you for your input folks. Yes I think the Catoneaster is the one, another friend found a photo on the web exactly the same as mine.
    Good to get confirmation though.
