Got given this pack of six plugs today, but no idea what they are. Hopefully I can put them in my summer bedding pots. I know they were mail order and have been sitting in the horrible plastic packs for a few days. They look a bit tired but they have had some water while in the packs. I want to pot them up into small pots today to see how they get on. Hopefully they will live....

Spruce, thanks! The person I got them from was sure that the label (now missing) said something like 'Dian' on it. Can I put them in hanging wall planters as upright plants along with trailing lobelia? Are they pink and what will they look like when established? Thanks so much again!

      Hi

How big are the wall planters ? I have always grown in the open border in full sun border, if you do plant in the wall planters carefull that other plants dont swamp them out , depending on which ones you have and they could be mixed from white to pink to deep red and purple mine grow about 6 inches high and about 8 inches across . so dont plant to close to each other , they are realy easy to take cuttings from so if they are diffrent you can easily increase the one's you realy like and you can ask another question later on in the summer .

Hope this helps just so you know I sepent two summers in Newquay working at the headland hotel and the St Rumons , lots of fun but to much hard work .... I used to dissapear down the estuary for some peace and quite , and just remembered we all used to go the red lion for a bevy

Spruce, I work at the Headland Hotel in Newquay! My Newquay 'summer' turned into 15 years and counting... :) Again, thanks very much for your help. I already have everything planted for the summer, but I have some spare lobelia and other bits and pieces in 9cm pots. I was going to borrow a couple of small wall planters for the fences just to use them up. Not very big ones unfortunately. They will not be in full sun, only half day full sun. I have no room in my border for anything, my garden is very small and mainly filled with hanging baskets/pots and planters in the summer.

Yes Spruce, it is still owned by the Armstrongs (since 1979). I only remember the staff accommodation on Tower road, which goes up from the roundabout by the Red Lion. They were sold about 8-9 years ago. When did you work at the Headland?
