Anyone still got their poinsettia going? I thought mine was heading for the end a week or two ago, but it's re-juvenated itself, and even re-done some red leaves...... Doubt if I'll get it to be in full splendour for Christmas, though - will probably get another one, unless someone has some good advice on keeping it going???

I'm no expert in house-plants - never had the space for many until now - and always had to have things relatively clear so dogs, cats, boys, etc, wouldn't knock them over.......

Dendy, they need a short day length regime of six ours light and eighteen dark for so long i.e in a blach bag or airing cupboard to initiate buds but it doesn't always work, they need heat and humidity too so it really isn't worth it. They are often kept as a green house plant/shrub. [IMG]

Sorry, Dendro, can't help as far as a house plant ... had no luck in Bucks trying to keep them from one year to the next ... can't get rid of the s*dding things here ...

Sorry, the picture's a bit dark (this was two years ago) but it's that thing on the left!

Finally dug this up (massive rootball and all) and gave it to a friend with a huge garden and the s*dding thing shot up from nowhere again so I'm now training the shootling (2 metres tall now) into a tree ... photo at Christmas.

Last year it went to 3 metres tall and I cut it back to about one after it's lost it's leaves in the Spring ... then off it goes ...

Thanks both! Will go for the usual "buy just before Christmas" thing, I expect! although I have a fantastic new wonderful house, etc, etc, etc - it's a bit short on cupboards.... Oh, well - I'll survive! Even if the poinsettia doesn't! :D
