Any advice on how to secure the cover on a polytunnel? Is it best buried in the ground or secured with wood around the base?

    Many thanks. GF

If you dig a reasonably deep trench and bury the polythene it does help anchor the whole structure.
If you fasten to a wooden rail you have the option of putting the rail higher up and putting netting at the base to improve ventillation. You will need to st the base tubes in concrete though and then screw the hoops to the base tubes to give extra stability

Whichever way you do it, it's important to do it on a sunny day so the polythene stretches and expands. When it cools it becomes much tighter and won't rub on the hoops when windy
