PonyTail Grass with SnakeHead Fritillary?

    Would these go together .If not what would go with the grass as I have 5 of them in a row and want some sort of foil.

    Sounds lovely Jean, do they flower at the same time though? Fritillaries flower in the spring and if your grass is autumnal then you won't get the blend. You could plant some of the black grsses in between if you want a contrast.

    Im not certain when the grass comes through as I bought it mature this year. Does anyone know whether it grows by spring/

    Ponytail grass is Stipa tenuifolia (normally). This is an evergreen grass so it should be showing in spring when the frits flower. It flowers itself in September.
    You do need to spend some time in early spring cleaning out any dead fronds, but you do not need to cut it right down as you do with deciduos grasses like Miscanthus etc.
