 Well we have been to the vets, but not sure what has caused it.. All of a sudden last night his eye just started to go funny. Droopy very red & watery.. It didn't seem to irritate, but he was acting a little strange.. Ended up taking himself off to his bed in the other room... Something he never does normally.. Was very subdued. Didn't move all night...

This morning, loads of rubbish coming out of his eyes, but he is bouncy again & eating his food OK..

The vets are not sure what has caused it at all. They seem to think it is an allergic reaction to something.. But we don't know what...Or where from.... He has had major washouts at the vets. Then they put special drops in & looked at his eyes with ultra violet light. They say there is no obvious damage to his eyes, which is good....
He has anti inflamatory liquid to do the obvious.. Eye drops, cream & a different bug treatment in case there is some bug responsible, but they think not.. Allergic reaction to something.. Have to take him back on Monday, or call before if no improvement.. Hopefully he will pick up a bit with the medication.... [IMG] Ã?£92.. later..!!!!!

    :( Poor old Charley....

This is what he usually looks like......

    Right perky chap..
But this is today... It doesn't really show how bad they are but you get the idea I think..

Hope poor Charley gets over that infection right quick, Marley, and it does sound like an allergic infection.

Could he have been investigating something while out walking, have you gone back in your mind where you went with him?

I always think it is a good sign when they are eating properly.

arghhhh charley what a shame do hope he picks up and his eyes get better very soon
Before i went away every so often the whites of rosas eyes look red and when i took her for her injections she get a yearly check, heart, temp etc and i mentioned this to the vet and he put some liquid in her eyes so that it would show up anything, and said her eyes are fine, so i dont know what causes this.

I have to walk him on the lead until he has been back to the vets.. To make sure he doesn't stick his face in anywhere.. Oh he is going to be so disgusted at not being let off the lead in the field...!!!!! :D Thank you all for the well wishes.. I told him you were all sending him get well wishes so he had better get better..!!! :D :D

[IMG] Hi Gogs, everyone.. Thanks for the well wishes.. The vet told me to rest Charley Gogs. I thought it a bit strange at the time.... Feel a bit better about it now then.. Nigh on bl**dy impossible too with him... When I walked him on the lead tonight he just couldn't get his head round it... :( I think he thinks he has done something wrong..!! He works the hedgerows normally Gogs, & the vet said he had to keep his head right away from everything..! Hence the lead... Oh well just hope he will settle into it.. I don't walk him on the roads as he hates the traffic... So do I come to that..!!! ;)

Best wishes from Lucy and me too, Charley and Marley!

Lucy has recently had an eye problem and went to a specialist vet. Apparently her problem is caused by pressure in the eyeball which pushes the liquid between the layers of cells causing an abcess. Beagles are prone to it. she doesn't seem to be in discomfort but the eye weeps a bit. So sad to watch her when you produce the tube of ointment - oh no! not again!

Sounds horrible Marley hopefully your little man will bounce back in no time at all, it must be hard for Charlie (and you also) as springers are like wild, crazy kids so hard to control but incredibly loving.

Here's wishing Charlie a very speedy recovery. [IMG] Hel.xxx.
