This is the first year we have really tried to grow from seed, and we haven't had much luck. We have used chestnut compound and lots of TLC, but lost a lot of seedlings. This is a pic of our Gaillardia 'Goblin' seedlings which I transfered to small pots about a week ago. They don't seem too bad, except the tiny stems are quite spindly. The picture isn't very good, sorry. The leaves seem okay but the stems are weak and they're flopping over. I don't want to loose these too! Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong??

hi BekiMac. Perhaps add a bit more compost, up to the bottoms of the seed-leaves (the first 2 little leaves) and gently firm in. After that, only water when the surface of the compost is starting to dry out. Good luck. [IMG]
