My Bananas are squashed into the greenhouse for now, and have been going - well - bananas!!!! But yesterday, when I was watering, noticed this on two leaves (not same plant)

Have they been burnt by the heat/sun in the greenhouse, or is it something more sinister?????

Most likely the heat Hbee, but also check for spider mites as the top leaf that is curly looks like it could be that. Just cut them off you seem to have lots of others. If it rains this weekend you would do well to let them out in it. Increasing the humidity in the G'house would help but try not to water the leaves of the banana as they go black spotted if they get alot of water on them.

BM - I got a musa basjoo from a garden centre the other week, and after a few days (when it was very warm) it was looking VERY sorry for itself. I took it out of its pot and found it almost completely pot bound (stupid garden centre!) so I potted it up in a much bigger container and gave it a good feed and it seems to be recovering. However, the leaves that grew during the "sad" stage are all floppy, brown at the edges and look pretty naff. Should I cut these off in the same way or leave them on? If I remove them I only have one decent leaf that has grown in the last week

Dave I cut all the leaves off mine sometimes, it should be fine. Just don't overwater it because if it can't expell the water through the leaves they can rot. Bananas shouldn't suffer too much from being pot bound but I imagine the soil G'centres use is pretty thin and I would think the water and any nutrients ran throuh the root ball with little to cling on to. Nicley repotted with some food and a drink in a good sunny spot it will be fine.
