Looks like there is still some green leaves on the plant.

What I would do is cut off anything around the sides that looks dead, and repot in small bark chips.

Is it one of the Oncidium alliance?

Tidy up the brown leaves, but do not cut off the pseudobulbs, as this is where the new ones should emerge.
Trim the dead roots and wash under running lukewarm water. Then I would repot using a finer orchid mix (J Arthur Bowers is good) with a good handful of perlite. A finer mix should keep it more stable. Drill a series of 5 or 6mm holes around the side of the pot that you use to keep it airy.I would put a layer of sphag moss in the bottom of the pot too in an effort to encourage the roots to go down.
