Poorly Smoke Bush

Can anyone help with a friend of mines smoke bush? She says that the leaves normally fall off in autumn but they're turning brown and falling off now so what can be wrong with it.

Any damadge to the bark?

Its odd and im a tad baffled, Id say some form of scortch then.

Cotinus (smoke bush) is fairly tough and the best course of action would imo be to cut out the stems with the worst leaf damadge, it should readily ree shoot maybee give it a feed.

 

agree with PG, check the bark on the affected stem as these could be damaged.
