    Hello All,

New to this forum so hope this is in the right place?
I've had a Yuka in my front garden for many years which has always thrived, lots of flowers, and new growth ocassionally. This year it's started looking very poorly with lots of brown mottled leaves and I don't know why or what to do. Any suggestions?

    Hello and welcome, @Andrew McElvenney.

I've never grown a Yucca, but agree that one does look a tad unwell. Older leaves do brown and then get shed regularly, but those brown spots don't look quite right. On the plus side, the tallest, central part has healthy looking leaves.

I would probably strip off the lower leaves with the worst spotting and then see what happens.

Remove all the old leaves and dispose of. Clear the area around it ( grass ? ) give it a good watering and mulch the surface. They can grow to a fair old size so either you allow all leading stems/trunks to continue growing or concentrate on a single trunk.

I get black spots on some yuccas most years, it's to do with out lousy weather.

They can grow out of it but often it returns the following year, tends to show up in spring.
I assume it's fungal but never found a good fungicide that works .
