poppies - double tangerine dream

    They looked lovely in the picture :( but how on earth do i grow them [​IMG]

    Was thinking of throwing them at the soil and runnig away quickly [​IMG]

    Anyone have any better idea's, they deserve a bit of love [​IMG]

    hi p,

    think you can sow outdoors in autumn or spring, i think they're pretty easy so you could probably get away with the classic throwing them method [​IMG] but better to give them a nicely raked warm, moist soil to germinate in and keep them weed free.

    that said - last time i tried they just ended up as slug food :( so...

    Thanks Chan,

    I deal with slugs in a rather brutal/terminal way, they don't really bother my garden too much just a bit here and there.

    Strange but the situation improved when the frogs went [​IMG]

    Your method of growing sounds better than mine so I think i shall go with it [​IMG]

    Good luck, ag ... if anything comes of them, I'd like some seeds as I'm trying to do my pink and orange "vision of loveliness" rockery which was a nightmare this year due to building works and consequently lack of attention from me!

    I'm not good with Poppies, never have been, but aren't they biennials? Other than California Poppies which also went assunder with the works. :eek:

    I will deliver them in person and pitch my tent in your garden if thats ok :D

    Poppy seeds in exchange for 2 week holiday sounds good to me [​IMG]

    Hi, rainygal, don't need that as I had SAD syndrone, hence being here.

    Home made wine has to be red and dry .......

    Lady no problem,

    I do a mean beetroot and cinnamon, sounds weird but slips down a treat. May give headache in the morning though [​IMG]
