poppy seeds

    I have been given some seeds of poppys red and pink ones...how do i get at the seeds? do i store in a bag or what? and when do i plant them out and how?

    with poppies i guess you just sprinkle them where you want them and let nature do the rest....should be that simple with poppies???

    The only problem is there are annuals [grow, flower, and seed all in one season] and biennials [ grow one year and flower the next]. If they're annuals it's a bit late now, although quick growing they might not flower. If biennial it's fine to sow them now.
    The seeds all look the same. To get the seeds out, shake the heads over a piece of paper, and store them in a dry cold place until you sow them.
    Can you ask the person who gave them to you what sort they were?

    they are just the commen red ones and the pink ones have a very pale green leaf..thats all the ingo i know..has the person as moved abroad
