We have been restrictedly back in the office for some time now, and I have noticed a difference.

"How are you" now has more meaning and depth, people really want to know how everybody really is. Having seen and lived through so many struggles seems to have opened the door to ask, to care, and to talk. :)

Everybody knows someone with a tough situation, juggling home working with young kids or older kids missing out a lot of their youth, or elderly folks with fear and isolation. We can relate.

Another positive outcome I've seen is focus on environmental things. Spending time at home has forced us to see the waste we make, take time to search and action more eco friendly solutions and just to notice things we didn't have time to see when the focus was outside the home.

The third positive point on my personal list is the routine to go for a walk every day after work. Not just when I feel like it, but every day, rain or shine. The darkest months see just an amble through the estate, spotting the best fairy lights. Lighter months offer a lot of natural beauty, we are so lucky to have great walks even though we live so near to the city. :)

Bad as the pandemic was, I do believe we have learnt some good habits. Stock up with toilet rolls and care for people around you, and for yourself. :)
