Or is it just part of the actual tree?
Basically I found this(or my son did, I had to stop him from touching it) growing on a tree root.
It's bright red and like little fingers and was wondering if anybody knows what it could be? However it could just be little feeder roots I guess but at the moment I'm having a fungus explosion all over(my yard) it seems.
Either way I was a little concerned as bright red normally signifies some kind of danger and didn't wan't my son playing with it.
    Any Ideas?

As you say it looks like very wet ground, and I'm guessing tree roots of some kind.
Did you notice Nibbles has got a "yard"
