    Hi All

I have a mini greenhouse - one those wood and polycarbonate things. It has three tiers and I have young fuchsias in it - 12 on each tier. My question is, should I alternate the shelves the plants are on? They're all doing well but the ones on the middle shelf seem to be growing more quickly. They're not all the same variety, obviously, so I realise some might just be taking off a bit quicker.

I feel that this is a stupid question, but at the same time don't want to upset any of the "babies". Never used a greenhouse of any type before so any tips greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Chi

It certainly wouldn't hurt to try, the ones in the middle are probably protected from the cold a bit better. My tobacco plants are growing unevenly so i'm moving them about to catch the light a bit better.

And also rotate the plants around if they're growing better on the inside/outside of the staging shelves.

Yes, I keep my plants on the move, shuffling them about on the staging. The plants that are shaded will grow leggy searching for the light.

Not a thickie question at all Chi. The value of this question is brought about by the knowledgable replies. We're all the same aren't we? Just cautious shepherds tending our flocks of precious little darlings,
