Posting using Quotes,changing Fonts / Colour / Size

WYSIWYG editor
First you need to switch on your Message Editor Interface - otherwise referred to as the WYSIWYG editor (What You See Is What You Get!)

Go to your User CP - top of the page on the left of the green nav bar.

Then, in the list on the left hand side, click on Edit Options




Once in that page, scroll right down to the very bottom where you will find a panel entitled Miscellaneous Options


In this drop down menu you will find three options. You need the Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing Option
Once highlighted so it is showing in the menu window, click on Save Changes.




MAKING POSTS

To make a post you can either use the quick reply box at the bottom of the thread in which you can

1. change the colour of the font
2. use Bold, Italics or Underline
3. embed a url onto a word
4. embed an image
5. use quote tags
6. increase or decrease the depth of the message box by clicking in the double up and down arrows in the top right hand corner







ADVANCED MODE REPLY

More features can be accessed by using the Go Advanced button (boxed in red above)









Here you can

1. choose a different font from the drop down menu
2. change the size of the font
3. change the justification to left, right or central
4. use redo or undo arrows
5. apply smileys (right hand side) into the post
5. choose an icon (underneath box) which will show up in the topics list

QUOTING POSTS


QUOTING A SINGLE POST
To quote one other member's post use the button .

This takes you to the advanced message box





QUOTING MULTIPLE POSTS


To quote two or more posts use the button in each post as you read through the thread. They will turn orange when selected If you change your mind, simply click on the icon again and it will return to blue.

When you get to the bottom of the thread, click on the at the bottom on the left and all the quotes will appear in the advanced message box

The instructions are as follows:

Photobucket:
to load the picture:
1. put the picture in "My Pictures" on your pc, making sure it is saved in jpg file type

2. go to www.photobucket.com
3. register yourself if not already a member
4. make sure the options in the drop down menu are set no bigger than 640 x 480



5. then click on "Choose Files" which will cause a pop window of your 'My Pictures' on your computer to open
6. click on the picture you want to post and it will be automatically loaded into your PB album



7. click on the Direct Link box, it will go blue and a yellow box with 'copied' in it will briefly appear







To place the picture on GC
8. Go into GC, to the message box where you want your image - this can be either the Quick Reply or the Advanced feature.
9. click on the icon and paste the url you copied into the pop-up box that appears then click 'OK'





Clever you - you've just posted your first pic!!

The Properties option
There is a way to put images from other websites or a Google image search into your post

10. Right click on the photo and go to "Properties"





11. hold down the left mouse button and sweep across the url in the 'Location' to select it.
12. then place the cursor arrow ON the blue text, right click and choose 'copy'



13. then use do as described in 8 and 9.




PLEASE NOTE - IF THE IMAGE IS TOO BIG AND YOU FIND THE SCROLL BAR ACTIVATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN, PLEASE RESIZE THE PICTURE.

Check with the preview before posting it.
If you try to edit it after posting, the cookies will retain the original image even if you delete it from PB.
