Why aren't most of the new postings showing in the left hand column. I first noticed this a few days ago. Can you shed any light please?

On the main board where General Gardening Discussion, Identification Area etc. are, there is a column to the left that shows the new postings, looks like a sheet of paper. As I see it, the new postings apart from a few aren't being displayed. So I have to look at the right hand column first to see if they are posted today.

It's a bit garbled, but I hope you get my meaning. :)

Are you referring to our front page where the little noticeboard in the lefthand column shows orange when there are new posts and blue when there aren't any new posts? If so, mine is still showing that. :dbgrtmb:

Of course, you could click on 'New Posts' at the top or 'Quick Links' and then 'Todays Posts'. :)

      You mean these icons:
      [IMG] Forum Contains New Posts
[IMG] Forum Contains No New Posts

      ??

If so they are rather unreliable, because it relies on knowing what YOU have seen, and what you haven't, and that is prone to being reset if your session finishes (you close your browser, or you don't click on anything on the site for a while (dunno how long, 20 minutes maybe?)

As Shiney says "New posts" is more useful (although that suffers from the Session Ended issue too - when I get caught out by that I resort to using "Today's Posts" instead)

You use those? I use the New Post link from the top Nav Bar. That way you don't miss nuff'n!

Yes, both Shiney and Kristen are right.

Perhaps this is just my problem, because my new posts aren't showing there at all. They did, but not this last week and I'm not doing anything different.

However, as I said earlier, until today, there were only two or three showing. They seem to be normal today, apart from mine.

Perhaps it intentionally doesn't show your own posts (as, to you, they aren't really "new" ?!)

If so it will have always behaved like that, of course, so if the behaviour has changed then I'm on the wrong tack!

I get what you're saying Kristen, but just to prove a point can you see yours please.
