    Hello!

I have two bunnies & I have tried everything to stop the little naughties from eating my plants & flowers! Last year we replaced all the pots with big tall ones - they can't reach the tallest ones, but the slightly shorter ones - they will just jump up onto them and then jump from pot to pot and munch their way through my plants!

Anyone got any bright idea how to stop them from jumping up onto them???

(here's some pics, so you can see what I mean!)

Those are tall pots! Have you thought about putting spikes or something uncomfortable into the soil at the top of the pot, similar to those pigeon spikes public buildings have?

Either that or keeping the bunnies to an area of the garden, although I appreciate you wouldn't want to do that.

Hmm that maybe a good idea.

I did try wooden skewers and holding up plastic plates all round the sides, but they just knocked them off or took the opportunity when the wind would blow them off.

You might have to get inventive and start gardening with rabbits in mind. I have no idea what plants they leave alone and which they love to devour. Now...if you were talking chickens I could give you loads of advice! All I can suggest is geting the pots out of harms way or restricting the rabbits to a part of the garden where they can't get to them.

I'm not sure rabbits and gardening mix,...do they?:D

Think you need to keep the rabbits in their part of the garden and the living plants in theirs.

Keep them in a pen in a small part of the garden, save you a lot of hassel.

Any of my shotguns are very effective at controlling unwanted rabbits. My rifle takes care of foxes.

If these are pet bunnies then they need to have their own pen. One that you can move around the garden is best so they get lotsof variety. Rabbits are like any other animal, if they have enough food and room to play/socialise in a certain area they will not roam further afield.

I have adopted my teenage daughters rabbit, really cute and friendly little fella called "Guiness". I move his hutch and run about every three days. He gets lots of attention and scares the hell out of the cats. Rabbits like to play, so give them as much space as you can to roam about. BUT!!! YOU decide where they roam about. They love things like apples, new dock leaves, daisies and of course every plant that you really REALLY want to keep.

    Good luck with it.

    Chopper.
